My Thanks to All
Elkassed Farouk 20 November 2000

Many thanks to all JFK runners and the crew members. What a wonderful group of people. Special thanks to Loretta and Christina. They helped me when I was down, pushed me when I needed to be pushed. This year was a great running year for me. I had a great marathon, and great improvements on the JFK from last year. I was so determined to do better, and I did. The difference this year was that I was prepared physically, but most important, mentally. The whole event was so special. I don't remember any bad part this year. Yes, I was sore after leaving the trail for about five to seven miles, but when I got used to the flat, I started feeling better. When I was tired, Loretta saved me by running with me on the CO canal. And the big help from her was when she ran the last four miles with me. I think I am still high and aroused from last weekend's experience. It's always a great feeling to cross the finish line. And it is hard to express that feeling by words. I would love to do the JFK next year if it doesn't interfere with Ramadan (fasting). Thank you, everyone, again, and thank you Mamma Anna for taking care of everybody. See you on the trail.

PS: I forgot to mention that the big motivation this year was to kick Al's butt. What a great feeling to see his ass smoking. (Sorry Al)
