Important: Reston Runners please note....
If you want participate as a member of the Reston Runners Team you must submit your completed application (we recommend getting them to us as soon as possible after CVAC makes applications available on 1 July, see the CVAC site for details and applications Official JFK 50 Miler Website ) with fee, to a Reston Runner Program Coordinator. If you are interested in participating as a member of our Reston Runners Team, contact our JFK Program Coordinators Anna Bradford and Jim Ashworth. (please contact us first, do NOT send them to the RR PO Box). Team applications MUST be mailed in to CVAC together. (See the official JFK website for additional information on team categories, registration fees and deadlines, etc.)
Again this year: All Reston Runners that have participated on our Teams during previous years are of course very welcome to join us again! In other words....you are "grandfathered" in! For our newbies: In order to be included on the Reston Runner team at the JFK; you must a) be a member of Reston Runners (it's easy to join and only costs a mere $15 yr) and b) runners must volunteer at least 2 hours in support of Reston Runners (if you are out of town, contact us, we may have tasks you can do to qualify), and must sign up on the Reston Runner JFK Database by (date TBD, but we encourge you to sign up by 9 August). That's not too much to ask, is it?
CREW. We have a limited number of generous volunteers that give up a weekend each year to provide suberb crew support and help us continue to achieve a very high runner-finish percentage. Runners: We STRONGLY encourage you all to recruit your own crew person(s) if at all possible. We have experienced crew'ers that are happy to provide training, advice and directions to new crew members.
When providing your registration fee to the Program Coordinators, please be sure to make the check out to CVAC; Check the application details for the correct amount. It varies depending on age and time of submission. (Remember to circle the correct T-shirt size).
