JFK50 Lodging, Pre-Race Dinner, and Sunday Morning Brunch

HOTEL RESERVATIONS for 2009
Reston Runners' has reserved a block of rooms at the newly renovated Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, 901 Dual Highway, Hagerstown, MD 21740.  Direct telephone reservation's number to the hotel is: (888) 528-6738 or (301) 733-5100.  We have reserved 65 rooms for Friday night November 20th, before the JFK race day of Saturday, November 21st.  We have also reserved 5 rooms for Saturday night, November 21st for anyone that wants to stay over on Saturday evening after the JFK race.  The room rate for up to two adults is $85.00 plus taxes of 12%, bringing the total to $95.20 per room.  The cost for any extra people in the room is $10/person plus tax.  

This block of rooms for Reston Runners will be held for us until 30 days before the race, i.e., October 20th, 2009.  Reservations received after that date may not be eligible for the negotiated group rate.   All individuals reserving a room(s) must make their own reservations, directly, and guarantee the reservation with your own credit card.  Likewise, in case of cancellation, you are responsible for cancelling your own room.  NOTE: Cancellations must be made 72 hours, 3 days, in advance of the arrival date, in order to avoid being charged the full price for the room. Thus, make your reservations early, but do not forget to cancel them at least 3 days in advance, if necessary, in order to avoid any charges to your credit card.  No shows will be charged if no cancellation is received for the reservation.

When making your reservations, please be sure to mention that your want the Reston Runners' group rate and let the hotel know at which time you will be starting the JFK race or leaving for the race.  

The Clarion Hotel will be providing a "Bag-to-Go" for all Reston Runners' room reservations, i.e., something like a banana and bagel.  They will be providing coffee and serving a Continental breakfast starting at 4:00-4:15 AM on Saturday morning and continuing this service until at least 5:00 AM, for those starting or supporting the 7:00 AM starters.  All rooms have individual coffee makers in them so that even the early starters can make their own coffee in their rooms.

FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER (location TBD probably Pizza Hut)

Reston Runners will make arrangements for our own traditional, private Pasta Dinner on Friday evening.  More specifics to follow as we solidify our plans.   

Reservations: Once we have made the arrangements and reservations, we will likely set up an automated banquet registration via our Website.  This will enable runners, family, friends, and crew to sign up the number of individuals attending the banquet. When signing up, please indicate the number of adults and the number of children in your own party that will be attending the Banquet.

POST RACE CELEBRATION BREAKFAST

Runners and crew meet together at the Blueberry Hill Common House on Sunday morning at 10:30am to share stories, share breakfast, and thank their crew. Stats from the race will be available at breakfast.
