Guidance for Post-Run Breakfast Hosts
and Other Users of Reston Runners Coffee Pots
Some of the club's biggest social events are the post-run breakfasts. Many generous people offer up their homes and efforts to host potlucks or full breakfasts. Nancy Despeaux has agree to coordinate these events. If you are interested in hosting a post-run potluck, please refer to Steps to Running a Post-Run Potluck (below) for more information. If you are interested in assisting Nancy, contact her at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Steps to Hosting a Post-Run Potluck
- Contact Nancy Despeaux at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and let her know your preferences. We try to schedule potlucks so that the location is in some proximity to the run/walk. You can look at the schedule and pick a date when a run is scheduled near your home, and contact Nancy with the offer. We will try our best to meet your request. Or you may call and offer up a date in the future (sometime after the posted run schedule), and we can schedule a run near your home. We will work to accommodate your kind offer!
- The club has two 60-cup coffeepots that are housed at Joe & Marcia Stowers' home. One of the pots should be for regular coffee, the other for decaf. If you are scheduled to host a potluck, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it early in the week to coordinate a time to pick up the pots. Or, you can try contacting the most recent coffee-pot user with the help of the list of phone contacts below.
- Click here for coffeepot directions .
- The host/hostess generally supplies the coffee (about 2 lbs. total), juice and paper goods. The club has a stash of accouterments: sugar, Equal or other sweetener, creamer, and some paper goods which will be offered to the host in addition to the pots.
- After the potluck, please completely clean both coffeepots and contact Joe or Marcia to coordinate a time to return these. This should be early during the week following the potluck, so that they can be passed on to the next host/hostess. If hosts supply Nancy with their e-mails or phone numbers, she can facilitate communications between both parties and a direct transfer can be made.
