5K (3.1 mile) race for women, and 5K fitness walk
Pre-register by mail, on-line (through midnight Thursday, 23 June only), or on race day from 6:30 - 7:30 A.M. at the school. The entry fee is $20 for applications received or postmarked by June 19, and $25 for applications received or postmarked after June 19. Race day entry fee is $25. ENTRY FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Packet pickup is Friday, June 24, from 4 PM - 9 PM at the Sport and Health Club, 11445 Isaac Newton Square off Wiehle Avenue, in Reston. On race day, June 25, packet pickup is at South Lakes High School from 6:30 - 7:30 AM Event shirts will be given to all registered participants. Sign up your Mother/Daughter team at packet pick-up.
Awards to the overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place runners. Age group awards: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65+. Awards to overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place walkers. Mother/Daughter Team 1st, 2nd, 3rd place awards. Random drawings for additional prizes. Participation medals for all. Sign up your Mother/Daughter team at packet pick-up.
Proceeds support women’s running and fitness programs and events in the Reston/Herndon area.
The event will begin promptly at 8:00 A.M. on the South Lakes High School track inside the football stadium. The race and fun walk also end on the track. Ample seating for viewing the start/finish. Awards ceremony immediately follows the event.
The course is mostly on pathways, moderately rolling through the woods. Split times will be called at 1-mile and 2-mile marks. Fluids available on the course for all participants.
From the Dulles Toll Road (Rte. 267) take the Hunter Mill exit and turn south on Hunter Mill Road. Turn right on Sunrise Valley Drive. Then turn left on South Lakes Drive and go 3/4 mile to South Lakes High School. From the Fairfax County Parkway, go east on Sunrise Valley Drive to South Lakes Drive. Then turn right on South Lakes Drive and go 3/4 mile to South Lakes High School. From Reston Parkway, turn east at South Lakes Drive and go 1.4 miles to South Lakes High School.
