EVENT A fun, 5K (3.1 mile) race or fitness walk along a tastefully decorated course for women of all ages. Welcome summer as the men cheer for the women runners and walkers.  Excellent race premiums and door prizes.  Handsome male volunteers.  All race participants will receive a commemorative gift if registered by June 15th. All finishers receive a finisher's hat.  Other "surprise" for participants.   Join us for a day of fun as we salute women.

REGISTRATION / FEES Pre-register by mail, on-line (through midnight Wednesday, June 25 only), or on race day from 6:00 - 7:00 A.M. at the YMCA. The entry fee is $25 for applications received or postmarked by June 1, $27 for applications received or postmarked after June 1.  Race day entry fee is $30. ENTRY FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. RACE PACKET PICKUP Packet pickup is Friday, June 27, from 4 PM - 9 PM at the YMCA, 12196 Sunset Hills Rd, Reston, 20190 and on race day, June 28, from 6:00 AM - 7:00 AM.   Event premiums will be given to all participants registered before June 15, 2008. Sign up your Mother/Daughter or Grandmother/Daughter/Granddaughter team at packet pick-up.

AWARDS AND PRIZES Awards to the overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place runners. Age group awards: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65+.  Mother/Daughter Team 1st, 2nd, 3rd place awards. Grandmother/Daughter/Granddaughter Team Awards.  Random drawings for additional prizes. finisher hats for all finishers.  Sign up your Mother/Daughter or Grandmother/Daughter/Granddaughter Team at packet pick-up.

TIMETABLE The event will begin promptly at 8:00 A.M. at the YMCA on the back lawn.  The race and fun walk also end in the back of the YMCA. Ample seating for viewing the start/finish but bring a blanket or lawn chair. Awards ceremony immediately follows the event.

COURSE The course is mostly on pathways, connected by the W&OD trail.   Split times will be called at 1-mile and 2-mile marks. Fluids available on the course for all participants.

DIRECTIONS TO THE RESTON YMCA From the Dulles Toll Road (Rte. 267) take the Reston Parkway Exit.  Bear right at the exit ramp and make a left at the next stop light (Sunset Hills Road).  Proceed about 1/2 mile to Reston Executive Center on the right.  All race participants MUST park at the Reston Executive Center.  The W&OD trail is at the rear of the Reston Executive Center.  Enter the W&OD trail (on foot) and turn left. Walk  1/2 block to the YMCA.
