Subject: Suspicious person on the W&OD

It was brought to my attention during the first week of May that there have been encounters on the W&OD Trail, with a white male subject, that dresses in a straw hat and carries a tool resembling a hammer. This individual was reported to have chased or threatened the trail users, paticularly cyclists, that attempt to pass him. The citizen that brought this to my attention advised he had heard these events occured on the W&OD near the RT 28 crossing. I have checked with the officers at the Reston District Police Station, and also looked for reports concerning simular events, to no avail.

If you or any of your members have had encounters with this person, or notice any other suspicious activity, please contact the proper jurisdiction and file a report as soon as possible.
