HIGHLIGHTS Saturday, July 28, Summer Picnic/Pool Party , 6:30 to 10 p.m. Mark your calendars--this is THE annual Reston Runner summer picnic, but this year (due to change of policies at the Hunt Club) the party will be at the Hunters Woods Pool. Join us for burgers, hotdogs, sides and desserts, cool drinks, and live music, all provided by Your Club. Members should feel free to bring a dessert or side dish if they wish. We'll have the nice large pool to ourselves along with the surrounding area for relaxing, eating some good food, and chillin' and chatting with friends. See you there!
WEEKEND RUN/WALK
Please note: Although not on the schedule, some folks will be doing trail runs from the scheduled start point (Sunrise Valley Elementary) the next two Sundays. Although there will be water at one point on the trail--Carpers Farm Road near Rt. 7, and at Great Falls if runners go that far--trail runners should carry a water bottle.

After years of faithful service to the club as our boutique managers, Eamonn and Theresa are ready to pass the torch and let someone else have a turn at managing our clothing and accessories. It is awesome that we continue to enjoy such large numbers of runners and walkers on our weekend runs! However, with such large groups we do need to continue to remind ourselves and others to stay safe, especially when crossing or running on the streets. So PLEASE remember to run not more than two abreast on the road, do as Mom taught you and look both ways before crossing, cross safely and quickly, and when the road allows run against the traffic--on the shoulder or off the road as much as possible. Stay alert and keep your heads up!
