Several Reston Runners participated in Mountain Masochist Trail Run (MMTR), a 54 mile run in the Blue Ridge Mountains on Saturday. The weather was nearly perfect and the leaves were still on the trees, even at the higher elevations. 7 started and all 7 finished before the tight 12 hour cut-off. Brian Schmidt was 3rd overall finishing in 7:40:59. The lone woman, Stephanie Wilson, came in at 10 hours 21 minutes. Next was Bill Turrentine, finishing his 19th MMTR at 11:05, followed by Farouk Elkassed, Ed Cacciapaglia, David Yeakel and Jim Cavanaugh. All of us except Brian and Stephanie are signed up to run the JFK-50, so you could say this was our last training run before that race.
