Back off of Fox Mill, where the Jackalopes roam; there's a course called the Difficult Difficult Run
And as we stood in the rain; we knew we'd get muddy but, mostly it would be lots of fun
Well, this morning, Joe did his best to describe the indescribable, before warning the unwary to take heed
Some took maps to help with navigation and, James was to let his dog take the lead
In a moment our gang had plunged into the woods and, were heading off to who knows where
They'd reappeared from time to time; soaked to the skin and, sporting all the real estate they could wear
After a while, all hands were back to their cars and, on their way to Mike and Cathy's potluck breakfast; up the street
Shoes left in the garage, we followed our noses, to the good things that were there to eat
Soon Reston Runners had filled their plates and all the rooms; with munching and chatting, wall to wall
We're a club of good runners and walkers that's for sure but, eating's what we do best of all
Eventually the time came to bid Mike and Cathy farewell; a more cordial couple, you'd be hard pressed to find
Having the Saturday morning gang over for breakfast was really awfully kind
