I am a… Walker, after some years of running including 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons, and six marathons.

since … 1995

PR
(personal record): The marathons account for a lot of satisfaction but this spring, I walked the Nature House 5K (at the Walker Nature Center) and placed second in my age group.

When I’m not
pounding the
pavement… “John’s List” [his curated directory of service providers] and fishing here in Reston take up a lot of my time. I have a lovely, Colombian-born wife, Maria, and we are going to celebrate 32 years of marriage on Sept. 17th. We have no children, but I try to act childish from time to time.

Here’s my
little secret: Being a member of Reston Runners has been most satisfying in many ways. Staying active with a group that shares a healthy living style is the best.
