RACING WITH RESTON RUNNERS

Our club has an amazing and diverse range of athletic talent. Many are new club members and are in training for their first 5K or 10K. Others are experienced runners who run competitively and have completed dozens of marathons and ultras. We are unified in our love for the sport and a desire to reach personal goals.

• Reston Runners is making a renewed effort to compete as a team at upcoming road races. We motivate each other through the many good (and bad) miles.  Entering races and competing as a team helps each of us establish running goals--achieve our fastest time, or perhaps run farther than we have before. Racing keeps us motivated and on track (pun intended)! A great holiday tradition in Ashburn, VA. A flat, fast racecourse, live entertainment, vendor marketplace, race awards, and even a Santa Claus appearance. 2026 Cherry Blossom 10 Miler

10 Mile and 5K Race

The participant lottery for the 53rd Annual Credit Union Cherry Blossom (CUCB) 10 Mile and Double Blossom will be held during a 15-day period starting on January 5, 2026 and extending through 11:59 P.M. on January 19, 2026.  All lottery information can be found on the event website at https://cherryblossom.org/pre-race/entry-info/lottery-entry. Lottery results will be announced by January 22, 2026. 

Registration for the 5K, presented by ASICS, will open on January 26, 2026 and will be on a first-come, first-served basis until the entry limit is reached. The 2025 race took about three weeks to fill up. NOTE: This year the 5K will be held on a new course in Arlington, VA, conveniently located near the race headquarters hotel at the Crystal Gateway Marriott. The course will return to the Freedom Plaza and Pennsylvania Ave. course in 2027.
